Alfred Nobel was a Swedish chemist, engineer, innovator, armaments manufacturer and the inventor of dynamite.He devoted himself to the study of explosives, and especially to the safe manufacture and use of nitroglycerine.(This liquid has been used as an active ingredient in the manufacture of explosives, specifically dynamite.)

This is an image of Nitroglycerin.Nobel developed the use of nitroglycerin as a blasting explosive by mixing the nitroglycerine with inert absorbents particularly diatomaceous earth. He named this explosive dynamite and patented it in 1867.
